  • Start using things up that you can't move, like cleaning supplies and frozen food.
  • Discuss tax-related moving expenses, liabilities, and deductions with your tax advisor.
  • Make a list of all people/organizations to contact about change of address.
  • Complete U.S. Postal Service change of address forms and mail them to all applicable publications, stores and organizations.
  • Get copies of (or arrange for transfer at both ends of move) all school, medical, dental, veterinary, legal, and accounting records.
  • Contact insurance agents to transfer or cancel coverage.
  • If it's a company move, check with your employer to find out what moving expenses they cover.
  • Get a mail subscription for the local paper in your new location to familiarize yourself with the new community, its activities and issues.
  • Locate and obtain all automobile licensing and registration information.

Four Weeks Before Move:

  • Get an itemized list of all moving related costs and review with mover, including packing, loading, special charges, insurance, vehicles (if needed), etc.
  • Contact all current and new location utility companies (gas, water, electric, cable TV, phone & trash collection) to set connect/disconnect dates. Remember to keep current utilities hooked up until move day.
  • Make arrangements for relocation of pets and plants.
  • Move valuables to safe deposit box to prevent loss during move.
  • If you are packing yourself, acquire packing materials/boxes and pack items you won't need for the next month.
  • If professional mover is packing your goods, schedule packing day(s) 1 or 2 days before move.
  • Prepare any mowers, snow blowers, boats, snowmobiles (or other vehicles you won't be using before the move) for the move by servicing and draining gas and oil, to prevent a moving van fire.
  • Repair, send out for re-upholstery, or clean furniture, drapes, carpeting as needed.

Three Weeks Before Move:

  • Make travel arrangements for family for moving trip, allow for unexpected delays and cash needs that often occur in moves and house closings.

  • Terminate newspaper and other delivery services at old address.
  • Give away all plants you don't intend to move.
  • If you're moving out of a building with elevators, arrange with management for use of elevators on move day.
  • Schedule for appliance disconnects on moving day or the day before the move, if necessary.

What our clients are saying

I have several friends who are real estate agents...but when it comes to doing a transaction for over a million dollars, I put friendship aside and made sure I had a representative that would and could add value. Prior to this transaction, I have gone thru 13 Real Estate transactions and have found that most agents are more interested in completing a transaction than making sure all aspects of the transaction were in my best interests. I was initially lured by the very substantial savings he provides... but after speaking to Paul Doroshuk, I was sold on his full service offering and the expert guidance he provided at a better value than other agencies. I am clear I received better service than in the past and it netted me more money in my pocket. Paul was informative, looked out for my best interests at every step and was 100% supportive of the decisions I made about offers. He was super responsive to all communications, had great attention to detail and really pressed to sell my home.

Great Guy, Great Agent/Broker. Highly motivated and on-top-off-things! Planning to do more business together in the future! Helped me close on & purchase my new property!

~ Private Investor

Really knows how to get top $$ and was fast and a pleasure to work with. Best I've ever known for investing also. Finds the best bang for the buck in properties that turn awesome cash flow. Has helped a great deal to make me successful in Real Estate. Thanks for everything Paul.

~ Jason Merlino

Having done some investments in real estate through out my life times, I believe selecting a good agent is critical to navigating your way to success . Paul is extremely efficient, knowledgeable and an awesome communicator. I highly recommend him to everyone looking for a qualified, dependable real estate agent

~ Yuki Shino

Was overall a Great buying experience. I don't know about everyone else but buying a home and moving can be stressful at times but he eased the stress by having my back and always being able to reach them. Ahhh finally in our new home and we will be unpacking and setting up for weeks. Thanks again!

~ David Makar

My first impression of Paul was quite impressive. I am not one easy to convince. I will admit, I have hung up the telephone on quite a few Agents. I really do try to listen, because everyone has something to say. And I am always willing to learn. Well, I did not hang up on Paul Doroshuk. Paul kept me listening. He introduced himself and said "tell me what I can do to meet your family needs." All I can give you is total honesty". Told us what he could do. Now I have been told for over a year by some of the so-called top companies that I did not qualify. Companies that use our countries flag in their advertising and tell me because I am a veteran and served, I would get top of the line customer service. Every time I reached out in need. I got burnt, and was feeling hopeless. Paul came through with everything he said. Thank you Paul. I appreciate you for the faith

I couldn't be happier with the way my home-buying experience went with Paul. As a first-time homebuyer, it was helpful and reassuring to have somebody as knowledgeable and straightforward as Paul answer my questions and guide me through the process. Within days of contacting Paul, he was able to show me a promising selection of properties, and we found the perfect house in a matter of weeks. He was able to negotiate a deal that exceeded my expectations, and the entire transaction moved along quickly and smoothly from there. I would highly recommend Paul to friends, family and anyone in the area looking for a home. He's a terrific guy and an excellent agent.

I've used Paul Doroshuk to list & sell a few of my properties, as well as to purchase my most recent Primary home. His service has been nothing short of exemplary. I knew in using Paul Doroshuk, that I would not have to worry about some of the issues and headaches that I've had to deal with when using other brokers/agents in the past. I have, and will continue to recommend Paul Doroshuk to all my Associates.

~ Joe Vargas

Paul was very helpful in the process of selling our condo. He offered personal attention and made it happen. Paul was a true professional and worked with a good team to ensure we were able to sell. We appreciate all of his efforts on our behalf.

~ Jacquelyn Pratt

Paul is a very professional and considerate agent, keeping always in mind his client's needs and expectations, keeping his client's well-informed, and makes the process of selling a home, which can be stressful, a smooth transition. He knows the market and knows how to present your home. I would recommend him to anyone wanting to sell or buy a home. I also bought my new home through Paul and was quite happy with it.
